WHY SHOULD YOU COMPLETE A SPORTS REHAB INTERNSHIP?

1) Have The Mentoring Experience That Everyone Recommends You Get But Don’t Have Access To:

Are you tired of hearing about the mentoring experience you  can’t find? Practitioners at the top of their game are busy and hard to access…. Here is your chance.

2) Short Cut Your Learning To Stand Out From The Crowd:

A structured curriculum will help you shortcut your learning and gain the theoretical and practical knowledge that will make you a sought-after practitioner.

3) Develop The Skills And Knowledge You Are Craving After University:

Did you leave uni feeling like there was so much more to learn? It is true, there is! We will give you the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge you thought you would learn at uni, but just isn’t possible.

4) Be Able To Deliver The Rehabilitation You Thought Working In Sport Would Teach You:

Are you passionate about sports rehabilitation but struggling to deliver the results you want? I tried! But at your local teams you are pulled in every direction, lack consistency and commitment from players and don’t have time to deliver pro-sport level rehabilitation. This is your chance.

5) Rehab More ACLs Than Most Practitioners Do In Their Whole Career:

Did you know that most physios or rehab professionals would see less than 5 ACL injuries per year? And then they only see them every few weeks or months in the clinic! We have been rehabbing knees for years. We have returned over 300 athletes to sport following ACL and knee injuries.

6) Get Out Of The Clinic And Into the Gym And The Field:

The traditional physiotherapy model doesn’t work for teaching you how to rehab sports injuries properly. Work in a rehab model that allows you to spend hours with athletes each week to truly understand the rehab journey.

7) Avoid Spending Thousands on Professional Development:

Don’t spend thousands on professional development courses which try to teach you everything in 2-short days or less. Get practical, hands-on experience to develop and implement new skills and knowledge without breaking the bank.

8) Learn A System That Can Be Applied to All Injuries

Our program will teach you a comprehensive system that can be applied to all injuries, giving you the tools you need to become a versatile and effective practitioner.

My ACL injury made me realise not only how much physical recovery was involved, but how much mental recovery was also needed. Adam, Dan and Yas were there every step of the way and helped set me up to come back to sports. As a coach now, I try to incorporate the lessons they taught me to rising athletes to reduce the risk of knee injury occurring to them. Couldn't recommend GCKG more!

Injury ACL & meniscus tear. I found out about this program through my surgeon and I am thankful for that. I started the program after some initial minor rehab post surgery. The change from day 1 to the end of the program was significant. I recall asking by the end which knee I had actually injured. The program and the team helped physically but also mentally, which is almost as important when considering a return to sport. This was a few years ago so I'm sure the program has only improved since then.

The staff at GCKG are amazing, some of the nicest and welcoming people i have met. Not only are they caring but phenomenal at what they do to improve others well being and push you to achieve new goals. I have an ACL injury and the staff at this clinic have improved my confidence, provided me the best workouts for my knee to get stronger and have consistently motivated me to push myself harder each session, they truly are amazing.

Adam and the team at the Gold Coast Knee Group were the best in assisting me to recover from my ACL, MCL & meniscus injury. At each testing stage, I saw major improvements and now, around 2 years post injury, I have been back playing AFL for the past 6 months with no issues. There is also a great social element to the group as there are other individuals who have gone through the same injury that you are also completing rehab with! Highly recommend.

MEET YOUR MENTOR

I have spent a lot of time in the clinic, on the sidelines, travelling with teams and working with the best in the business, and one thing was sure…. We can do so much better for our patients!

It was hard to give athletes everything they needed to overcome injury’s physical and mental effects.

There had to be a better way.

So, I started a PhD on knee injuries to study precisely that….

“The Optimisation of ACL Rehabilitation”

It has been A LOT of work. Countless hours reading research, collecting data and writing papers. All in the pursuit of OPTIMAL rehab.

I have seen 100’s of ACL patients and completed 1000’s of consults with people with knee pain. Combined with countless hours of professional development and the opportunity to work with and be mentored by some of the best in the business, I have developed the skills and knowledge that may take you a whole career to achieve.

So, from all that work, the “Sports Knee Rehab System” was born.

A system that puts the needs of the athlete first. A system that allows us as the therapist to give athletes what they need, so they can do what they love…. play sport!

And the best part is whether they have a:

  • ACL injury
  • Meniscal tear
  • Dislocating patella
  • MCL or LCL injury
  • Damaged cartilage

The system works.

In fact, you can apply and adjust the system to any lower limb injury!

Following a proven system that is customisable and individualised means you can’t lose.

While my pursuit for better rehab will not end, the opportunity to guide and develop a new generation of physios is a privilege and something I care deeply about.

Adam Walker
